Cardfight!! Vanguard Clash!

Episode 6: First Day! Rare Card Tournament!

Alice Hirari sat at her desk as she began to reconstruct her deck. However, as she was about to put the finishing touches in, Alice Hirari noticed that her copy of Soul Saver Dragon gave off a strange aura.

“I don’t know what is it about this card, but I feel that it’s calling to me” Alice Hirari thought as she placed the Soul Saver Dragon into the deck, then heading off to bed.

The next morning, Alice Hirari ran down to the Katana Card Shop, where she noticed Keiko Fukui and a few others standing in line. As Alice Hirari walked up to her, she noticed that Keiko had two somewhat large boxes.

“Alice, I got you a Card Disk!” Keiko Fukui told Alice Hirari as she showed her a white and blue box, which carried a Card Disk of the Royal Paladin colors, where were white and blue with a red gem.

“Oh wow! Thanks for getting me one, Keiko” Alice Hirari thanked her friend as she gave her a hug.

“Hey! The name’s Linus, and since you’re in the tournament, you have to battle anyone who challenges you!” Linus told Alice Hirari. Linus had red hair and green eyes, with a blue and black Card Disk with a white gem.

“Sure, but let’s go outside” Alice Hirari smiled as the two ran outside.

“I’m warning you, I’m not gonna go easy on you!” Linus declared as he turned on his Card Disk and placed his starting Vanguard down.

“Me neither! I’m gonna play with all of my heart!” Alice Hirari responded as she  turned on her Card Disk and placed her starting Vanguard down.

“Stand up, my Vanguard!” Linus and Alice Hirari declared as they both flipped up their Vanguards. Linus had Chappie the Ghostie while Alice Hirari had Shining Knight, Millius.

“I’ll start things off by riding Lunar Crescent Knight, Felax and moving Millius to the Rear Guard!” Alice Hirari began as she placed Lunar Crescent Knight, Felax on the Vanguard.

“My turn! I ride Dandy Guy, Romario and move Chappie to the back, and I call another Romario to the Rear Guard!” Linus exclaimed as he placed Dandy Guy, Romario on the Vanguard Circle and a second one one his left Rear Guard Circle.

“This guy seems pretty tough, but I have faith that these new cards can defeat this guy” Alice Hirari thought to herself.

“First, my Rear Guard Romario will attack your Vanguard!” Linus grinned as he moved Romario to attack first.

“I won’t guard” Alice Hirari responded as she checked the Damage Trigger, getting a Milky Way Unicorn.

“Next, with support from Chappie, Romario attacks!” Linus continued as he turned the two cards to attack.

“I’m not going to guard” Alice Hirari responded again.

“Time to check for a Drive Trigger!” Linus exclaimed as he checked the top card, getting a Ruin Shade. Alice Hirari checked for a Drive Trigger, getting a Starlight Violinist.

“I ride Absolute Blade Knight, Livarot! And I’m calling Archer of Heaven’s Tower and Paccgal to the Rear Guard!” Alice Hirari said as she placed Archer of Hevean’s Tower and Knight of Steel Wing to Rear Guard Circles, “First, Archer attacks with support from Millius!”

“No guard!” Linus responded as he checked the Damage Trigger, getting a Evil Shade.

“Next, with support from Knight of Steel Wing, Livarot moves to attack your Vanguard!” Alice Hirari added as she checked the Drive Trigger, getting a Knight of Flash!

“No way! A Critical Trigger!” Linus gasped as he checked two Damage, getting a Samurai Spirit and God-Eating Zombie Shark.

A few miles away, Keiko Fukui was going through a battle of her own. Going up against a girl named Gina, who used a Megacolony deck. On Keiko’s Card Disk, her Vanguard was Blaukluger, and she had Blade Arm Leprechaun, Tough Boy, and Jupiter Blaukluger on the field. Gina had Hell Spider as her Vanguard, along with Bloody Hercules, Master Fraude, and Karma Queen as Rear Guards.

“Cut through the galaxy with your awesome power! I ride Stern Blaukluger!” Keiko Fukui announced as she placed Stern Blaukluger on the Vanguard Circle of her Card Disk, “And with support from Blade Arm Leprechaun, Stern Blaukluger attacks!”

“I can’t guard!” Gina cried as she checked the Damage, getting a Phantom Black.

“Alright! I win!” Keiko Fukui cheered as Gina handed over her rarest card, Hell Spider.

Back with Alice and Linus, their game was at a standstill, both were at three damage. However, Linus grinned as he drew a card from his deck.

“I ride Commodore Blueblood!” Linus exclaimed as he placed Commodore Blueblood on his Vanguard Circle, “Then I Counterblast three cards to Superior Ride Monster Frank!”

“No way! A Grade 3 already?!” Alice Hirari gasped to herself in shock.

“Monster Frank is coming at your Vanguard!” Linus laughed as he checked the Twin Drive, getting a Master Swordsman, Nightstorm and a Dragon Spirit.

“I’m checking the Drive Trigger” Alice Hirari sighed as she checked the top card, getting a Paccgal.

“Are you scared now? I’ve already got my Grade 3 and I’ll crush you next turn, Alice!” Linus boasted as Alice Hirari drew a card.

“When all hopes look bleak, there’s one card that I can count on to restore my hopes! I ride Soul Saver Dragon!” Alice Hirari declared as she placed Soul Saver Dragon on the Vanguard Circle.

“No Way!! That’s one of the rarest Royal Paladins in existence!” Linus gasped as Alice Hirari called Knight of Twin Sword and Regret Jewel Knight, Urien to the Rear Guard.

“With support from Urien, Knight of Twin Sword attacks your Vanguard!” Alice Hirari started as she turned the two cards to attack.

“No guard!” Linus responded as he checked a Damage, getting a Dancing Cutlass.

“Next, with support from Millius, Archer of Heaven’s Tower attacks your Vanguard!” Alice Hirari continued.

“No way! I guard with Dragon Spirit!” Linus responded as he put Dragon Spirit on the Guard Circle.

“Finally, with support from Knight of Steel Wing, Soul Saver Dragon takes the final attack at your Vanguard!” Alice Hirari declared as she turned the two cards to attack.

“I can’t guard!” Linus exclaimed as Alice Hirari checked the top two cards, getting a Skilled Knight, Jedd and Burning Mane Lion!

“Excellent! I give both the 5000 extra power and the Critical to Soul Saver Dragon!” Alice Hirari declared.

“No! I need two Heal Triggers back to back!” Linus gasped as he checked the Damage Trigger, getting a Dandy Guy, Romario and a Ruin Shade!

“Yes! I win!” Alice Hirari cheered as Linus tossed her a copy of Monster Frank.

“Well, you win my rarest card” Linus sighed as he walked away, while Alice Hirari put the card into a binder.

A little west of where Alice and Linus had their battle, Oliver Shin was having a battle with a boy named Victor. Oliver Shin had Chronojet Dragon, Brasschain Dragon, and Masergear Dragon. Victor had Schoolbag Sea Lion and Silver Wolf on the field.

“Now! I Stride the Vanguard, Interdimensional Dragon, Mystery-flare Dragon comes charging in!” Oliver Shin declared.

“No guard!” Victor responded as he checked the Damage Trigger, getting a Cable Sheep.

“And that means I win” Oliver Shin smiled as Victor handed over his Schoolbag Sea Lion card.

After a few hours of battling through other players, Alice, Keiko, and Oliver all met up in the local burger place. After their burgers arrived, Alice Hirari pulled out her binder and showed the rare cards she won.

“I’ve got Monster Frank, Edel Rose, and Demon Slaying Knight, Lohengrin” Alice Hirari told her friends.

“Neat! I’ve only managed to get two though...” Keiko Fukui sighed as she showed her two won cards, which were Meteor Break Wizard and Hell Spider.

“Wow, you two have a quite a bit” Oliver Shin noticed as he showed his rare cards, which were Violent Vesper, Demon Eater, School Bag Lion, Knight of Conviction, Bors, Juggernaut Maximum, and God-eating Zombie Shark.

“That’s super cool! How did you manage to get that many rare cards within one day?” Keiko Fukui asked Oliver Shin.

“That’s the power of Stride for you” Oliver Shin chuckled.

“Well, I’ve got to go, see ya tomorrow!” Keiko Fukui waved goodbye as she ran out.

“Alice, I do want to give you something” Oliver Shin smiled as he handed Alice Hirari a small, paper envelope. Alice Hirari opened it up, revealing it to be a set of Grade 4 Royal Paladins!

“Oh my gosh! They’re amazing!” Alice Hirari cried as she hugged Oliver Shin tightly, “Thank you so much”
